PiP Cancelled Home Assessment

Hi there, (this is my first post, so I hope I am posting in the right place)
I recently received a letter from Capita for my PiP assessment. The venue was a 1hr 39 mins journey (train, bus and walk). None of this is possible. I was advised to ask for home visit - which I did! After being advised of 1 cancellation rule, was offered home appointment.
Now, 3 hours before assessor is due, I've had a call saying the appointment is cancelled because the assessor can't come!!
So, the solution?..... An appointment on 1st October at a different centre, 1 hour away (train and walk). When I questioned this, was told about the 1 cancellation rule again, and that if I cancelled this, my claim would be sent back to DWP. Also, that DWP guidelines are that claimants are expected to travel up to 90 minutes on public transport!!! (Really!?!).
So, because I have already used my "1 cancellation", my choice was take this appointment or leave it!!
I just felt that accepting this appointment, and going all that way, goes against everything I told them in my application about my travel (it was bad enough when ESA leapt on to the fact that I had driven myself 15 minutes to THAT assessment).
So, I refused the appointment based on the fact that it is sn unreasonable distance for me! I was told that my claim will go back to DWP, and I need to call them in a week.
So, can I ask if anyone else has been in a similar situation, or may know what I can expect to happen next?

Have you considered ringing the DWP to check the rules? If your appointment arranged was a home visit and its cancelled by them surely the rule doesn't count if they don't then offer you an equivalent home visit."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0
