I actually had a problem with them not been able to feed my current account from my ISA, they responded to my email advising I should "call and speak to one of our lovely members of staff".

I've never dealt with FD, obviously. But I'm wondering if they have the same business model as, say, sky, where the call handler will implore you to give him 5/5 when the follow up text is received, or else he'll be beaten up and sacked. That's one way to encourage positive feedback.
Barclays don't send out follow up texts, if you don't like the service you've received, complain.
