gas fire capping not mentioned in certificate

I had a gas safety check done recently and the gas fire failed flue flow and spillage test. The gas engineer disconnected the gas fire and capped off the pipe.
But it is not mentioned anywhere in the certificate that the connection was capped off too. The estate agent is now asking for a new certificate before he can let the new tenants in.
In the certificate, in the "remedial action required", it say "none" too. Not sure why that is not enough for agent.
Appreciate any thoughts on the issue. Thanks

Technically the engineer should have condemned the fire, noted it on the certificate and put a danger notice on it. There is also a warning notice that should have been filled out.
In the remedial action it should have been noted that it has been disconnected from the supply and made safe.
It doesn't need mentioned next year but as it was only just discovered on this visit it should have been recorded.
The engineer hasn't done himself any favours because if you decide to reconnect it and kill your tenants there is nothing the engineer has on record to protect himself.0 -
So what is the best(cost effective as well) action for me now? Agent is asking for another certificate or have it edited. The engineer was from one of the larger companies so not in direct contact.[STRIKE]Deposit: 25000!!/15000[/STRIKE] Homeowner :j

Contact said large company, make a complaint and explain the circumstances.
P.s I do this for a living, so when you get a dangerous appliance the details I gave should be carried out, it's not just an opinion so the said large company will understand.0 -
"the engineers have inspected the fire and over the far right hand said it does state the appliance is Not safe to use"
Got a reply from their engineering team, But is that enough?[STRIKE]Deposit: 25000!!/15000[/STRIKE] Homeowner :j
