How did you do this? Email? All our money is in Vanguard at this stage, so I would inclined to try this out...
You'll need to talk to them and see what they say. Personally I'm sceptical that they will do it at "the drop of a hat".

H-L will drop their platform fees to 0.25% pretty much at the drop of a hat if you ask.

I find them excellent value coupled with their low cost trackers, once you are on the 0.25% rate.

    Really?

    At what level of investment?

I doubt that they will do it at a "drop of a hat" but if you have a good sum invested with them and threaten to leave then your prospects are much improved <s>.

I have just emailed HL asking for a reduction as all our funds are in vanguard. Lets see what they say...

Please let us know how they respond as I doubt it's that easy to persuade them? I am very sceptical they will be interested in dropping their fees on our 2 years of LISA contributions.

If you are in VLS have you considered HL's discounted Blackrock Consensus?

Will do, so far no reply, but will leave it a day or two and see. I have said theres no point in me paying 0.45% when I can pay 0.15% with Vanguard direct. If they met me in the middle I would be happy enough.

If no reply in a few days I will then do the ISA transfer via Vanguard and stick to my word.

I havent really looked at Blackrock Consensus to be honest, much the same as VG LS?

You have a better case as there is more competition in the ISA market but why would you stick with HL at even 0.25% when you can pay 40% less elsewhere? The account exit fee needs paying eventually anyway unless the FCA ban it.

  • Instead of inventing new products, id like HL to address their existing range. For example, why do we still have the ridiculous situation of not being able to select /unselect dividend re-investment for individual holdings rather than all or nothing? Other platforms offer it and yet HL are dragging their heels on something as simple as his ?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Sure but their management work in the interests of the shareholders who want to see fresh revenue streams from both new savings customers and cross selling new products to existing customers.

That would be a nice touch but it's not the reason for my response. I've just noticed the Wizzard connotation in your username and it made me smile :)
