Can anybody tell me how to reset the service light on on my Vauxhall Astra Twinport 1.6, it has only done 2500 miles since i serviced it.I am sure it involves putting your feet on the pedals and using the ignition but cannot remember ( inherited the car from my son so not had it long)

No tried that and it does not work, thanks anyway.:)
  • Ignition OFF - press trip button to display odometer
    Press and hold trip button
Keep holding trip, depress brake pedal and turn ON ignition
Keep holding trip and brake pedal INSP---- should start flashing, after about 10 seconds INSP xxxxmiles should appear.

Service should now be reset. That's the procedure for the Astra H.

Sorted - My son called round tonight and checked it,said that it is coming up " insp 2 ",not a service light but it is telling me that there is a bulb out on the car, tried all the lights and nearside stop lamp not working, will change tomorrow.
Hope this helps anyone else with same problem.
  • Hi Ganga
Can you please tell me how your son managed to get to this point of finding out there was a fault please? I have the service light on but no obvious faults have been found.
    Many thanks

What car have you got? and is it definitely the service light? is it saying insp on the dash, or is this a pic of an engine or something that is yellow?

The service interal display codes are:

InSP Service interval display - tells you mileage till next service

    InSP2 Bulb failure

InSP3 Remote control has low battery voltage

    Hope this info helps.
