Fix plasterboard hole

Hi,
Need some help with a DIY bath curtain rod fixing! I started off with this work and ended up making a mess in the plasterboard.
First I used a larger drill bit than needed, then used a self driving screw but had to take out. Then tried hollow wall anchor but messed up that as well! I now have a big hole (around 15mm) which I am not sure how to fix. I want to fix it in a way that I can put the screw again in the same spot. Is this possible? Or Have I lost that place and can not screw anything there in future?
(PS: I did consider using GripIt bracket but I cant use it as the shower rod fitting I have got can not be used with those GripIt screws)
Thanks for taking a look

You can get drywall patch repair kits which should have everything you need to fill the hole. I dont think itll make it strong enough to reuse though.
A cheaper way is a piece of cardboard slightly larger than the hole with string through the middle, put it in the hole allowing it to open to block the hole up and then just fill the gap and cut the string once dry.
I think to be able to resuse the same area youd need to reboard that area though not sure, that said no nails and the like will almost certainly be effective. (all be it a bit bodgy)0 -
Get a small piece of wood the shape of a potato chip. Drill a hole in the middle and pass a string through it. Put some glue like gripfill on each end of the wood. Pass wood through hole, and use string to pull against the back of plasterboard. Maybe tie against another piece of wood on outside until glue sets. Cut off string, then put screw in hole.0
