Cheap MOT.
Martin. Regarding Halfords MOT offer. Are managers and/or mechanics paid commision on finding unnecessary parts to replace. Kwik Fit did this with their mechanics on blantent commision some years ago. Is it just another organised rip-off, or an actual genuine offer.
A garage holding an MOT licence is a very treasured thing and should be left out from trading tricks by law.
Spain's MOT testing stations are a fantastic example for an honest inspection, and no carrot dangling. (I know,-- rare in Spain)
This is after all, our nations road safety.
Carrying out correct MOT inspections should be free from Nutty cheap marketing ideas.

I got a cheap £25 MOT via In-Out MOT centers. All garages seem to fail cars on things order to generate work.
My recent MOT wasnt too bad, but the quote for the work required was over double from another garage that did the work.0 -

.
Conversely I have had cheap half price MOTs for most of the last decade, have owned two cars for most of that time and had just one MOT fail for a seized rear caliper handbrake mechanism on a car that had 155,000 miles on at the time of the test. Being present at the test and watching the brake tester readings they weren't making it up.
If your car failed it wasn't because they all fail cars to get work or you took a discount MOT, it failed because it wasn't up to the legal minimum standard of roadworthiness. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I prefer the system we have here in NI
Government MOT centres
So if it fails its failed because the car isn't roadworthy0
