Switching to HSBC

Hi all,
I'm considering the £200 switch to HSBC but I note that you can't get the reward if you have held an account with them since 2015.
I haven't but my wife found that she had a dormant student account that we only shut down a couple of months ago.
Will this exclude us from switching our joint account and receiving the deal?

it shouldnt matter, I did the switch to hsbc in July after going through the link on this website. I have just been on the phone with them and they say I am not getting the incentive switch because it was not on at that time even though that was the reason I did the switch. Not sure what I can do about it now.0

It is my interpretation of the switching rule of rule 4b that you are ok:geordiepaul2001 wrote: »I'm considering the £200 switch to HSBC but I note that you can't get the reward if you have held an account with them since 2015.

If you are opening a joint Eligible Account, this requirement must be met by at least one account holder
Rule 4b means that as long as one of you is eligible for the switch bonus then the joint account will satisfy the conditions to receive the initial switching incentive.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job
