I have a domain with Namesco and a number of users with forwarding set up.
My mother ditched TalkTalk recently and, as she already had a gmail account, I redirected her forwarding to gmail. Since then she has been complaining of email disappearing, i.e. emails that were definitely sent to her that did not appear in her inbox or her spam folder, but were not bounced back to the sender.
My wife has had essentially the same set up, i.e. an email address on my domain that is forwarded to gmail. As far as we know, she has never had any issues with email disappearing.
In the past Hotmail were known for accepting mail and then just dropping it. I don't believe that has been an issue with gmail.
I don't have any clue why one of 2 identical setups works perfectly and one appears to lose email. Does anyone have any good ideas.

if you are using a intermediary SMTP server to do the forward have you logged into a mailbox created on that smtp server and seen if it gets through?
have you forwarded with MX record. if so have you setup any forwarding in google to help it know which mailbox to get the emails to land into for example there are articles on google to do it?0 -

Most emails are getting through, so I know the setup is basically correct. It's only a few that get lost.0 -
Make sure she looks in all the boxes, spam etc. Be sure she checks the sent mail as I have found that if you reply to an email it can be attached to the sent mail in this box.
If she knows who sent it she can use the search function at the top of the Gmail page.0 -

She says she's tried all that, I am 2 hours drive away, so I can't verify it, but I am inclined to believe her. She certainly knows to check the SPAM box and has found quite a few legit emails in there, but some still can't be found.0
