Even someone that loses their mobility award say 3 months after the renewed BB is issued would be entitled to continually use that BB until it runs out in 33 months time even though they no longer have any difficuties with walking.
    Wrong.

See 7. They must return if no longer eligible, or even if housebound.

Although the chances of people being caught fraudulently using BBs is fairly low.

To once again draw a comparison. Those with a suitable PIP/DLA mobility award would not be required to prove continued mobility issues.

Many of those have to prove continued mobility issues for a renewal of their PIP/DLA awards. Indefinite awards are unusual.

I'm not surprised they refused since you refused to do what they asked. Not sure what else you expect as the evidence you sent was the AA award, which doesn't automatically qualify anyone for a BB. Oh, and a prescription list.....

I wonder if she follows her husband's example and only gets the prescriptions for benefit reasons but doesn't actually take the medication?
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I didn't actually think of that, well spotted and a very good point. Maybe she does the same thing.

Do you not see your contradiction here

I have refused to play their game and told them to refer to the previous hand written claim form - 2015 as nothing has changed.

Even if I had have kept a copy the contents of that form were only relevant as at August 2015 - three years have elapsed since then.

To once again draw a comparison. Those with a suitable PIP/DLA mobility award would not be required to prove continued mobility issues. The council would for example accept an award that originated many years ago as sufficient proof.
However with my wife's case, she proved 3 years ago that she met the criteria but every 3 years she is expected to submit medical reports, OT reports, etc to prove continued difficulties.
Those reports will have to be within the past 12 months or later to have any value as proof. What the council is actually saying that she should prove entitlement every 3 years that on the day of application she met the criteria?

People who claim DLA/PIP go through an extensive and intrusive process to obtain those benefits. The councils will then issue a badge on the basis that 'proof' has been obtained.

As in your wifes case, proof was obtained but it only lasted 3 years and so she needs to apply again. This would be the same for someone claiming PIP who only got a 3 year award. They would have to claim again.

It would be far simpler for you to just fill out the form.

Everybody seems to be missing the point.

I followed the instructions to the letter that the council had told me in their email via a link - to do an online application. - scanned evidence and photo and sent it off with my debit card details.

Then in August, a few days after her badge had expired the council sent me a second email telling me that the online form was missing important information and could I now forget what I had already done and start again but this time fill out the full application form scan it and forward it via email
Then because I had not managed to complete the full form AND get the evidence from the GP AND an updated OT report from Social Services AND have it sent back with a cheque for £10 within the time limit forced on me they have closed down the original application
Put it bluntly I have wasted weeks of inaction by the council and looking at the future of getting the evidence together, finally completing the form AND then another 6/8 weeks of waiting for the application to be looked as a new application.

And you wonder why I have an attitude over this.

    No-one's missed the point

It was you who filled the form in incorrectly and didn't send the evidence.

Far more importantly it is you who is moaning, groaning and prevaricating while refusing to "play the council's game". Thus depriving your wife of a BB for even longer. I have to say you see far more concerned about making your point than her wellbeing.

Fill the right form in and get the BB. Then, if you think the system is wrong complain officially - as opposed to posturing on here.
