New Way To Split Your Restaurant Bill

One variation of this that I've used often is more of a compromise between when you'd like to treat everyone to a free meal, but there are so many people it would end up costing you a bomb. So....
At the end of the meal you ask for a 'contribution'. Some put in more than they should, some work it out exactly, some 'forget' to add drinks, vat and service charge. There's a shortage of 5 - 20% which I'm happy to make up myself. No one's put in more than they think they should except me, and I'm happy that it didn't cost me an arm and a leg, and it's worth it if there NO ARGUMENTS / AGGRIEVED MUTTERINGS."Our remedies oft in ourselves do lie

If your a gambler here's an exciting way to end the evening! At the end of the meal each person puts in a credit card and get the waiter to take their pick!
I've suggested it many times, but my mates never have the bottle to do it!

When I am taken out for a meal by a man, HE pays.
When I go out with friends we pay for what we had, unless I've had a good month then I treat them.
I don't go out loads, so its more enjoyable not to get all stressed out about bill splitting. And you always get the ones who order loads of starters and side orders if there is to be an 'even split' of the final amount - greedy *uggers!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

When a group of us were away from home a lot, we would play "credit card roulette" like this. We'd get the waiter to put the cards behind their back and put the non-payers back on the table one at a time - it adds to the suspense.:D
In the end, it all got picked up on expenses anayway, so I wouldn't recommend it in real life except with good friendsJumbo
