Tracker to find keys etc

Im after a tracker for someone who can lose car keys, house keys. The tracker goes onto the keys and you locate them using a smart phone app.

Ive seen the Tiles you can buy,

These are tiles but the problem is they work on bluetooth which only has a certain range.

Pretty much all key trackers use Bluetooth and therefore are limited in range. For unlimited range you'd require a proper GPS tracker, but tbh these are overkill for the something like a set of keys.

Doesn't the Tile record it's last location, so even if it's out of range you'll still have an idea of where to start searching for it.

You will find something on ebay, some even use sim cards, but it is the old battery life issue, and keeping it charged, time to charge it. Although annoying remember those keyrings that used to beep when you whistle?

This looks good. Mentions no battery life, after year needs a subscription service.

Thought about using a pager, as the batteries can last a month, just listen for the beep.
