Long story short BT !!!!ed me off so moved back to talktalk.
Now bt say I owe them £140. Just received my final reminder through the post. They comment saying if I don't pay then my line will be disconnected with them and I won't be able to get my landline number back. But I'm thinking this is a general worded letter
I'm actually with talktalk now have been for 2 months. I'm just double checking here that my talktalk line will not be disconnected. As it's with talktalk. They cannot disconnect talktalk line with me can they?
Before somone suggests to just pay it. Well I'm currently still in my DRO and not able to pay 140 so if rather just pay a small amount to a collection agency for now
Any info would be helpful on this matter

No, if you are with TT , and this is an old amount owed to BT , then BT cannot disconnect your TT service, I doubt they would say that, but if you were still with BT and owed them money they could restrict your service , they couldn't stop you moving to another company though , even in that situation .
Most providers wouldn't take someone on who owes money even if it's to a competitor company ..., so in away you are lucky you got TT to take you on , before BT noted the debt0 -
Thank you I thought this was the case but just wanted reassuring.
In all honesty I'm not 100% Sure why I owe this amount I've been with bt for years. I transferred from bt to talktalk. And at this point I owed bt NOTHING not a penny I was fully paid up with them and a good customer.
This is I guess why talktalk where happy to take me on.0 -
maybe you were under a minimum term contract, and leaving them has meant you needed to pay the remaining months on the contract0

Bt like to tie you in for 12 months offering you free weekend calls0

Possibly. The only thing that confuses me is I've been with them for 4 years.....
If you re-negotiated or changed the package in any way that would probably entail a new contract. I'm presuming you've not been paying full whack for at least 3 years?
BTW if it's not gone to collection yet you'd possibly be better off trying to come to an arrangement with BT to pay it off rather than adding on all the extra fees that'll push it through the roof.
What's a DRO?0 -
