Why does my kitchen worktop overhang so much?

Hi we have had a Howdens kitchen fitted. Our worktop massively overhangs. I am not sure what is causing this - if it’s the way it was fitted or if that’s just the size. I bought 620x40mm.

I fit around 15 - 20 Howdens kitchens each year.
Their standard worktops are 616 x 38mm. This is to allow a decent overhang over the door / drawer front. I think this looks a lot better than having them flush.
Its more an aesthetic thing.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
