Alternative to Zinc cladding

We are just reviewing our plans from our architects for our bungalow remodel and playing around with the appearance for outside. The upper part we are looking at some form of cladding as there won't be windows in the walls only in the roof, and the bottom k-rend of similar. We don't want timer or plastic and we quite link the look of zinc but wondered if anyone has any experience of alternatives and can give their opinion on them, maintenance etc.

Thanks Doozergirl, we've also been looking at Colorcoat urban from Tata. Have you experience of using either of these?

I think they're linked now. My Vieo quote came from Tata.

I have PP for a steel roof on our house but we're going to go with clay tile. My design got diluted by the planners and I just think the steel jarrs now.

I've had a presentation on Vieo and seen it actually being installed on the Potton.

Thanks. I don't think tiles would look right with steel cladding then for us but I don't want it to look like an office either!

We have some Marley concrete cladding - google it, but currently the website isn't working!

I think steel is the way to go, we have just come across Vulcalap.

This is a powder coated aluminium that comes in a variety of colours too. So steel and aluminium so far, which is the best? Anyone any experience of Vulcalap anyone please?

just be a bit careful when choosing your metals, dissimilar metals, fixings and galvanic corrosion. We had an aluminium sliding door, but the builder insisted that we put a wood separator between the aluminium and steel
