Setting up a Mesh system - advice please

I have a lot of trouble with my fibre Plusnet wifi not reaching most of our house.
I've bought a cheap Tenda Mesh system which seems to work perfectly at reaching the far end of our property although I am not sure I have it set up to its full potential.
I simply plugged it into the plusnet hub and away it goes.
I have read that I should switch off the wifi on the plusnet router but I'm not sure
1. why?
2. how?
3. how easy it is to switch it back on if I mess it up!
Any advice would be very gratefully received.
Thanks

1. If you have a better WiFi system, you'd probably be better off switching that one off, if only to simplify management
2. Log on to the router (normally something like 192.168.1.254, 192.168.0.1, etc.). There should be a sticker on the router with IP, username and password. You can then disable the WiFi from there
3. Same as 2., just opposite operation. Note that if WiFi is off and also your Mesh is down, you will have to use a wired connection to the router in order to access it0 -
I believe the reason for advising you to turn off the wifi on the Plusnet router is to minimise interference. Having another wifi transmitter right next to a mesh node, won't be good for it's performance.0

1. why?
If the two wifi units on the same or close channels will be talking over each other and interfering with each others signal, causing corruptopns in both signals, forcing re-transmits, and will have the effect of lowering your bandwidth. A bit like listening to two people talking all at once to you.
2. how? Already answered above.
3. besides the good answer that is already given, and many including me would do it with a cable, you should be able to do a factory reset on the talktalk router, which will loose all the settings, but will re-enable wifi and its default setup, ssn and login,0
