imperial units ft3 to smart meters

Quick question, my gas meter is currently in imperial cubic foot units, and so the meter reading I give is multiplied by 2.83 to get the metric cubic metre units.

When I get a smart meter fitted, will the fact it is presumably in metric units get sorted automatically?

Has anyone been through the process from an imperial meter to smart meter and did it go smoothly?

Reading this Watchdog articlet has got me worried. It's a few years old but seemed it was quite common for suppliers to forget you had gone metric if you were on imperial...

It all went smoothly with EDF last month, the bill with readings from both meters showed two lines of calculations with the correct multipliers for conversion to kWh.

Just be aware that 1 UNIT on the old meter is actually 100 cubic feet.

All new meters, smart or dumb, have been metric for years now.
