Close an old Current Account?

Hi,
Hoping for some quick advice!?
I have three bank accounts, two of which are being used. One for all my transactiions, pay etc, and is the one I will be providing bank statements to any mortgage applications.
The second, is purely for work expenses and payment of the work credit card.
The third, is a very old HSBC account opened in 1999. I don't have a card for it, don't even know the account number or anything about it. Stopped using it over 10 years ago.
Is it worth closing the HSBC account? It shows up on my credit reports, with no issue, zero balance every month.
Whats your thoughts?

There's no particular need to, but you could close it for neatness.0

Excellent idea, and assume a new bank account appearing on my credit report, is not an issue.0 -
I'd contact HSBC and request the account details - just on the off chance it isn't as dormant as you think it is. If you haven't had any letters or replacement cards sent to you, the details may be going to somewhere else (likely an old address) and whilst unlikely, could be used by someone else.
Once you have access, I'd probably keep it open. Lenders like to see an example of a long-standing accounts. If you really feel you must close it, either use it to take advantage of some switching incentives, or just switch it into your main current account to close it all off neatly.0 -

Some very good points there, I have not had correspondence for years. So have no idea of the state of it. Will now make urgent contact and check. Thanks!0
