Hey Ms L!
I truly envy your travelling-I bet you've made some amazing memories.
Sorry to hear about your teeth...

Thanks guys!!
Dont worry, you wouldnt be jealous if you were here right now - the weather is blimmin miserable, I am sure you are having better weather at home!! Plus I am working, so not much changes  ! Payday in 1 week, whooooooooo!!
I wonder how much money I will need as a "buffer" just to keep me at ease and not worry?? I hate that feeling I really do. (as I said, I have NO idea how I managed when I was in debt, although I know I was in denial, hehe!!)
My next aim is to save some money to (obviously) finish my travels, and then have some money for when (IF?) I get home (about 1,000 or 2,000 would be great - but that is a lot of NZ$!!). Baby steps me thinks, will keep you posted. See, no rest for the wicked. I give myself a headache, I really do!!
The refund just come through, so thats 300 pounds towards it - better than a kick in the teeth, pardon the pun :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: !
I dont want to make you jealous, but definately think that EVERYONE should travel - it is great, and you can work your way around the world, so you dont need as much cash as you think (except when you have dodgy teeth!).
I havent seen anything of NZ yet but cant wait, but also missing my friends & family at home (obviously!!). If anyone comes out here for a holiday, let me know - no doubt I will have sussed out all of the "Happy Hour" and "Cheap Eats" venues by then, hehe!!
Have a good day (or night!).

Hello MS_London,
Fantastic to hear your travels are going well. Hopefully you will be able to see both some of the North and the South Islands. If you can get over to Fiji for a long weekend I would suggest that also - wonderful holiday place and you're just heading into summer and the hot weather.
I still write to friends in NZ. I lived there for 10 years or so and got married whilst over there (2nd time - hee hee...I'm not good at marriage thingys). Lived in Auckland and Christchurch and have dual nationality. The trout fishing was simply wonderful as well as the sailing.
I understand the cost of living has gone through the roof in recent years and wages are very low these days which makes things difficult for quite a few.
Hopefully as a tourist it should'nt affect you too much?
Regards, Michael.

ms_London,
I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were getting on. How are you finding NZ?
About the money situation- I am a bit in the same situation- I have sold my flat, living with OH and have a wedge of cash in the bank. The problem is I now won't spend anything!! I am convinced that if I dip into it, even a tiny amount, it will open the floodgates and I will revert back to my old ways. We have talked about taking a few months off to travel, but all I can think about is the dent it will make in my savings....
So, do as I say, not as I do! Enjoy yourself, don't get het up over the money situation, you've learnt your debt lesson the hard way, do everything you want to do as you will only regret it when you get home. I didn't go to Ayres Rock when I was in Australia, as I didn't think I could afford it- it's going to cost a hell of a lot more to go back and see it isn't it?!?
Enjoy the rest of your trip, I am sooooooo jealous xxSaving for an early retirement!0 -

Wouldnt it be cheaper to get a flight to Phillipines to get your dental work done there? Quite a few people I know of fly to thailand/ phillipines to get dental work done and its a fraction of the cost here ( NZ prices dont look so different to UK!) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Hey Lynz - unfortunately my toothache started just as I was leaving Thailand so didnt have enough time to get it done there before leaving. I was in so much pain when I got to Oz I needed it doing there and then! How are you doing?
SS - how are your car mats going?
STILL laugh about that to this day. Sorry to hear about your woofer. I just thought that you were going to make a rude joke out of "root canal", or perhaps I've just been mixing with the aussies for too long!
Just finished work, have a good day all & thanks for your replies.
