Ok here it is.
1) Assume that you intend to have a romantic weekend with your other half.
2) Book a room in a hotel for two weeks (exploit any discounted weekend rate offer and the book rest on normal rate)
3) On check in ask the receptionist to pay for the entire stay in advance.
4) Use your purchase 0% credit card for payment. (Halifax 15 months 0% purchase card comes in mind)
5) The day you wish to check out contact the receptionist and explain that you need to go home due to family emergency.
6) Offer your debit card to the receptionist to refund of the remaining of your stay.
If we assume that you were paying say £100.00 per day then your 0% purchase credit card is £1,200.00 on red and your current account is £1,200.00 on black.
Transfer this £1,200.00 to a high interest savings account.
Any thoughts?

This is a dirtier and somewhat more profitable variation of the above.
Do your grocery shopping indoors (not online) at TESCO.
Buy a very expensive item as well as your normal grocery.
Give your club card to be swiped.
Pay with your credit card.
When your item delivered at the customer service desk ask to cancel the purchase (any excuse will do)
Offer your debit card for refund.
The benefits with this variation are:
The 0% loan from your credit card to your savings as normal
You will earn club card points. This is 1% cash-back if spent in store or 4% if used with TESCO deals.
TESCO can not remove any club card points earned regardless if they refund the item in question.
I suppose that you could use a cash-back credit card with a 0% on purchases to maximise your profit. However I am not sure if there are any, if yes please let me know.

From experience, refunds always have to be made back to the card payment was taken from.I know nothing0

In my experience, if a refund is made to a card, it has to be to the same card.
It is possible that if you have relevant debit and credit cards ending in the same digits (4 appear on the till receipt at Tesco) you might be able to get a refund to a different account. At a hotel, they probably refer to the complete card number or can do it automatically without swiping the card again.
Of course, if you found a receptionist willing to defraud their employer (because of the different charging methods used for debit and credit card payments), and could bypass any automatic account selection, it would work.
PS Out of interest, I've just checked all the cards in my wallet. The best match on four final digits was getting two final digits the same - but they were both debit cards.0 -
... or you could just do fast stoozing rather than slow stoozing which would build your stooz pot for more quickly and more legitimately!

Hold on there… You say that is not legal to do a refund on a card different to the original?
If that is the case then sorry!! I didn’t know that.Si Deus pro nobis quis contra nos?0 -
Also, don't forget that a lot of hotels will place "holds" on amounts in your bank account as they protect themselves against you running up a big bill (food/drink) and checking out before they realise.
So, doing this, you might suddenly find you can't use your card/get any money for up to a week as they've "reserved" money in your account to cover your whole bill and a bit more.0 -
Hmm….
Speeding up the slow stoozing is out of the window then.
Illegal and unprofitable.
Oh the humiliation! I thought that I came up with something original.Si Deus pro nobis quis contra nos?0 -

If a retailer is happy to refund your purchase to a different card then that is absolutely fine. By implying it was not 'legitimate' I was probably expressing a personal view on the morality of making a purchase that you fully intended to return. That was a personal moral judgement - nothing more. We all have different opinions on what we think is moral and legitimate. Some people would think stoozing was immoral whereas I don't.
Apologies if my short reply came across as overly-critical.

BTW Tesco can remove clubcard points. What you may have found in your experience is that they haven't chosen to / been bothered to. It'll depend on the CSA.0 -

Most of the points have already been made, ref Q6 refunds are normally to the same card and the payment was taken from.
American Express will not allow the points /percentage cashback to remain on your card after a refund so trying to up the 5% cashback on the current American Express Platinium card will not work as they will deduct the cashback on any refunds.
I like your lateral thinking, have a look at one of my previous posts under Bokken about American express Traveller cheque card as it is possible to load this card and have it refunded to your nominated bank account and legitimately keep the cashback on your card the maximum is £3000 loading and transfer per transaction. You will need to do your homework i managed £9000 last year before they refused the refunds.
Good luck
