vista and firewall

With XP
I have always used commodo or zonealarm as a firewall
But with Vista these do not work.
Can anyone recomend one that does or is the microsoft one up to the job ??

I've been using Zone Alarm with Vista for at least six months. It works fine.

BTW the Microsoft one is better than the one in XP as it features outbound protection as well as inbound. However this is turned off by default!

It's not the easiest firewall to configure either. Perosnally I'd download Zone Alarm if I was you.

It says this product is not compatable with windows vista operating system

When ever I try and install it .It just freezes laptop
Does the windows one need to be took off first ???

ZA should disable the built in Firewall, but you can try switching it off manually.

Have you downloaded from the link that I provided? How large was the download?
Which version do you have?
Which other security programs have you installed?

Downloads are a bit clearer on here without using that TrialPay page. The free 7.1.078 version seems to be 17.5MB
