Seems to me preferable to living in an unremarkable one with rent to pay for ever.
Like the woman next door paying £1400/month rent to live in a smaller house.
Yes so are we
We could not afford to rent the house we are living in!0 -
It is not always the price.
Our son took a few months to sell his house.
Everything had been completely renovated.
The couple bought it for that very reason as the husband was not well and they needed to be near family.
He sold it like a show home with all new curtains and carpets and they could move straight in.
It all depends what people are looking for and if you are happy to wait for the right buyer to come along.0 -

Except that if it had been £50k more expensive than anything in the area they probably wouldn't have bought it.0 -

I reduced the price 2 weeks ago and still absolutely nothing.
Is there anything else I can do?0 -

It depends how much too high the original asking price was. You may still be trying to get too much for an ex council house.
Have you looked at what non ex council houses are selling for in your area? The point is that your house has to be cheaper than anything that is comparable and not ex council.0
