sofa to TV distance

ive currently got a 26" lcd TV in the lounge but thinking of getting a 37" instead, but looknig at it it seems like it may be a little too imposing in the room. Is there a guide to ideal size TV/room size Im worried it'll look like one of those pokey little rooms with a 60" plasma on the wall where it dominates the whole room!

I used to think there was such a thing as a tv that was too big for the room, there isn't. If it's a good large screen it simply pulls you into it :D

there is a calculator of sorts, i'll see if i can find it. Have a look on avforums
