First switch - my experience EDF to Scottish Power
Never switched suppliers before and recently did this through MSE.
All quite straightforward except getting the finish meter reading and the new supplier start meter reading to align.
I submitted the meter reading (say 1000) to SP and that became the start point for their bills.
I then received the final bill from EDF with an estimated meter read of 1205 (ie 205 units greater than it should be).
Emailed EDF customer services but no reply.
Filled in an EDF on line refund application form which asks for all the information they already have re the account but fails to ask for the correct meter reading.......
Come on EDF it should not be this hard to line up the bills.

Contact the gaining supplier as it has the Licence responsibility to manage the transfer of supply. The readings that you provided are sent by the gaining supplier for industry third-party verification. Once the readings have been verified, both suppliers are required to use the readings to close and open your accounts. The verified readings may not be the same as the ones that you provided.
