Engaging with supplier before I move
I'm moving house in a few weeks. Does anyone know the best way / timing of engaging with new suppliers for the new property. I'm not happy with my current supplier and my current deal is non transferrable so was looking for the best way to get on the cheapest deal asap.
The supplier at the new property is Npower, so don't expect them to be the cheapest.

Engaged in what way? You call them on the day that you take legal responsibility for the property; give them meter readings and your details.
What you can do in advance is work out NPower’s cheapest tariff and look at alternatives. If you decide to stay with NPower then ask for a tariff change when you call them. If you want to switch, you can initiate a transfer on the day that you call NPower. This will take anything up to 35 days.
All that said, they are ways of switching before you move in. The risk is that any switch may be blocked. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Whilst you might succeed, you really can't apply until you have responsibility for the property.
That said, I believe Boris has already applied for an account at 10 Downing Street;)0 -

I did initiate a switch on a new build property before I moved in and the transfers went through at legal completion plus 2 days. That said, there is every chance on an existing property that the existing consumer will cry foul. I had nothing to lose by trying. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
