Charge for overstaying by 6 mins

Hi, I have recently received a ticket for overstaying by 6 mins and have received a charge of £120. I returned to my vehicle within the time limit but had to remove sand from my shoes before driving to the exit. The charge seems excessive given the short time and I wonder if anyone has challenged the issuing of a notice on the basis that the landowner has to give some grace to the person parking to leave the site. Thanks.

Edit your post to remove information about who did what. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper.
If you have used your real name as your username, you should ask a board guide to change it.
Assuming this is a private parking issue, please read the sticky thread for NEWBIES then send the template appeal you will find there.
What is the name of the PPC please?I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Lots wrong with this. First of all the amount - over £100 (the current "reasonable" amount set by the BPA/IPC.
But let's have a bit more meat. Who is the PPC? Windscreen or ANPR? Have you had the NtK? Have you contacted the PPC?
Without giving away your name, read a few opening posts and supply us with sufficient info to enable us to help.0 -
The PPC is Smart Parking Ltd. The charge is £60 if paid within 14 days. The charge arises for ANPR on the entry and exit.0

I have had the NTK but haven’t replied.0

I should add that I paid for my parking via an app so can show that I had paid but left the site slightly later than I paid for.0

I douibt that SP have said its £120
it should be £100 and reduced to £60 for early payment
this should be appealed by the keeper, using the blue text template as detailed in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread
also complain to the BPA AOS email address about any issues (such as if it says £120 , also about the breach of clause #13 of the BPA CoP )
grace periods apply here and SP failed to apply them, never mind any landowner issue
and edit post #1
the driver paid for parking
the driver may have overstayed by 6 minutes due to the shoes issue
the KEEPER received the NTK in the post0 -
Lots of appeals won on Grace Periods. Read the BPA guide here https://www.britishparking.co.uk/write/Documents/AOS/AOS_Code_of_Practice_January_2018.pdf para 13.4
That clearly states you have a 10 minute grace period at the end of parking. Now if you genuinely have only overstayed by 6 minutes and not taken an inordinate time to get a ticket or similar, then you have a slam dunk appeal win, even without any other normal points.0
