Hello
I thought i would try and reclaim some ppi before the deadline instead of using a management company so i went onto hbos website and sent them the request info about ppi because i wasnt sure if i had it or not ,instead of them saying whether i had it or not they have now sent me out a questionare with my 2 account numbers blanked out in which i have 14 days to reply to , not sure about filling this questionare out as they may be trying to trip me up? What i was going to do if they came back to me and said yes you had ppi , i was then going to send out to them the ppi template letter to reclaim .
Do i really have to send back the questionare or can i just send them the template letter?
thanks for your help!

The only person who can trip you up is yourself.
If you have a mis selling reason and you would like them to look at it, fill in the form.
If it's all a bit of a stab in the dark and you're not fussed either way, you could use some generic template.0 -
You complain you were miss-sold and provide your reasons and proof that supports it. You do not "reclaim" anything.
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

You can only trip yourself up if you tell lies and they have evidence to the contrary. If you cant remember, dont make something up. Say "cant remember"What i was going to do if they came back to me and said yes you had ppi , i was then going to send out to them the ppi template letter to reclaim .
The form is the equivalent of the templates. They are all loosely based on the FOS template.Do i really have to send back the questionare or can i just send them the template letter?
If you send the template letter it will need to include the same information they are asking for. So, you may as well just do the form. (I am guessing you have some old fashioned template that should not be used any more)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). That is an old template that is best avoided now.
Template letters have a lower success rate. usually, as people do not personalise them or include things that may help the complaint. The FOS form or the provider version of it (which you have been sent) is the most successful way. The FOS tells people it prefers not to get template letters.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
