Bank Branch Closed

The NatWest branch in town has closed. The only way to pay money in is queuing for AGES at the Post Office with my paying in book. There are a few other banks I can get cashpoint money out, but I'd like to move my BASIC account. I'm on ESA and get below £6,500 per annum, and don't think I would get an account elsewhere. Can anyone advise me please if I'd get another account somewhere else? Thanks.

I don't know the answer to your question sorrry, but having been in the same situation, if you open a new account there's a considerable likelihood that that bank will then close it's branch too - we've lost Natwest, Barclays, HSBC and a couple of building societies past few years, thankfully my inertia stopped me opening an HSBC and then Barclays account before they shut too.0

OP what other banks are available where you are? They will be the ones who can tell you if they would open an account for you.0

As venison says ask
It may be that they can offer you a basic bank account
