in Credit cards
Husband has successfully received 0% money transfer card and has paid off my two credit cards (the debts on my cards were both of ours anyway)
But I am wondering should I close and cancel these cards now they at cleared or keep them open? they're both charging interest one is a Barclaycard (limit £1200) other is with Tesco (limit £3600)
is there any benefit to keeping them open? I have no intention of using them again unless it is a dire emergency!
Thanks

You should keep them and continue to use them.
But this time clear in full each month.0 -
If you are the sort of person who is tempted to keep making purchases on the cards, without budgeting for the expense out of your monthly budget, then I would close the cards down.
If you are the sort of person who can keep to a monthly budget, then I would keep the cards, use them both during the month for budgeted expenses, and then pay off the statement balance in full each month.
Edit: Keeping the accounts open, and managing the credit responsibly, will be looked at positively by potential lenders.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0
