0% card ends & nowhere to move it

Hi I have a question. I normally make best use of credit card 0% offers, shuffling them as best I can.
I presently have around 9k one a card (card A) of which 4k 0% balance transfer is about to end. The problem is none of my other credit cards are offering 0% balance transfer presently. (probably because I am near limit on the card A). So nowhere to move it, can't get loan, can't pay it off.

My question is.. Can i move the 4K which is causing me the problem to another card at their ordinary 20% balance transfer (where 0 is unavailable).. and the following month move that 4k back again card A who are still offering 0% themselves.

Will that work? different card.. but same VISA. wandered if this might get recognised and disallowed etc. Thanks for any help

  • Can you not apply for a new one?
  • Just try for a new 0% balance transfer card with another provider. There are loads out there. Just make sure that its from a different banking group than the one you are trying to transfer from.

thanks for replies so far guys. No I can't apply for a new one as eligibility checker on comparison sites etc is only offering deals with cards I already have.. or is offering credit builders at crazy rates- not zero. :(

  • Eligibility checkers are not infallible.

What cards, debts and limits do you have?
  • Then you may need to start cutting back and throwing whatever you can at it to clear it down
  • I wouldn't recommend balance transferring such a large amount to a 20%+ rate card. There is no guarantee that you could transfer back, and you'll get hit with fees for transferring each time.

Have a look around for other 0% cards as has been suggested. If you can't get a decent offer you might have to pay it off - I'd throw everything you have at it as the high rate will really start to hurt when the 0% rate ends

You need a plan to clear this debt down, rather than shuffling it for ever as, as you have found out, the deals may not be there.

I would just keep it where it is, at least the lender will up your minimum payments so you can start to clear down the balance - although you will pay interest, it might spur you on to clear it.
