I am currently using a laptop from the school where I work, so I have mine on a USB memory stick for ease of use and regularly copy them to a CD-RW for security. Which reminds me ...
I suppose that I really ought to upload them to my personal website, but there are now so many of them! The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
I just opened a folder in 'My Documents' and called it 'My Recipes'.
As Stephen says, you can save it to a usb memory stick or CD-RW to prevent total loss ,in case your hard-drive goes down.
I've also printed off a few of the favourites and keep them in plastic pockets inside a project folder with a clear cover. It fits nicely in my recipe holder thing and easily wiped if I manage to splash it with cake mix or grease.

I wonder if anyone here can help me. I have loads of pieces of paper with recipes on . I'd love to put them together on the computer so that I can throw out the pieces of scrappy paper and also have them all in one place.
Does anyone know of a good website that offers this?
Thank you in advance.
I'll merge this into the existing thread where you asked this question before

I have done a search, but nothing relevant came up - as always, merge/move if necessary
I am looking for a recipe software programme - one where I can input all my recipes which I have collected over the years. Then I would like to be able to search by ingredient. I can't seem to find anything that will do this - I have tried Recipe Centre, but it doesn't install correctly and has some serious compatibility issues.
If necessary, I can create a database using Access but am unsure how to do this so would really like to get something ready-made. Don't mind if I have to pay for it as long as it works. Any recommendations? ThanksWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Hi blairweech,
I just keep mine in a folder in my documents. But if you want an online facility there are some links on this thread that may help:

I'll add your thread to it once you've had some more suggestions to keep the ideas together.

I use treepad to organise mine. It is a bit like a family tree so you can have a 'node' for soups for instance and have all the soup recipes stored under there. It makes more sense if you look at it as it is a bit hard to explain. I've used this for ages to organise my recipes and other household related stuff
There is a freeware version which is free to download
