Online Recipe Storage

Hi First post... Does anybody know of a website that allows you to store your recipes in a searchable way? (free of course). Hope someone can help? Thanks

I've never thought of storing recipes 'on-line', LadyinBlack.

I store mine in 'My Documents'. I have created a new folder in there called 'Favourite Recipes'. Within that folder I have created sub-folders labelled Starters, Mains, Desserts, Cakes/Biscuits, Household etc.

I have copied recipes from this site, BBCFood and lots of others. Just copy and paste into a new word document and then 'SaveAs' into 'My Documents' and then into your 'Favourite Recipes' folder.

Reading that all back, it sounds complicated - but it isn't, honest.

This way, if ever your Internet connection is down - you still have your recipes to hand.

I created a forum to store all my recipes, its free to set up and you get a very basic forum to use straight away, then its up to you how pretty etc you make it.
Would that be the sort of thing you were after? (if you want to have a nose then look in my user profile think the addy is in there as my home page and if you scroll to the bottom of my site you should find a link to conforums so you can create your own site))
If not you could always upload them to recipezaar http://www.recipezaar.com/ which is full of recipes that other people have posted. You get your own cookbook so you can easily find your own recipes. If you want to pay you can then get more cookbooks and other added extras but to be honest I find the free membership fine.

  • Hi. Thanks for the replies. I'm looking for my own online cookbook. I'd like to be able to search it which I don't think I could do with "My Documents" Olliebeak.
Conforums seems a bit closer to what I'm after so I will take a closer look razra. The link to recipezaar didn't work but will google it later.
Thanks for replying. Any more ideas?

You can search within 'My Documents' - you have to go to advance search options and where it says 'search in', make sure its on my documents

    I just found this site

    http://wegottaeat.com/ui/home

It is a beta version, but it gives you recipe cards, where you type the recipe in. I have signed up, it looks alright.

  • Hello.

I wonder if anyone here can help me. I have loads of pieces of paper with recipes on . I'd love to put them together on the computer so that I can throw out the pieces of scrappy paper and also have them all in one place.

Does anyone know of a good website that offers this?

    Thank you in advance.
  • LadyinBlack - have a look at the Good Food Magazine site - they have a recipe "binder" that you can access and personalise once you have registered on there.

    Here - have a LINKY :D

Why not keep them on your own computer, that way you will have access to them even if your internet goes down.
