Should you give current provider opportunity or just switch?
So we did the energy saving club thing on here and could be saving £350+ on gas and electric. Should we just cancel our current and switch or give them warning and see if they will offer us a better deal?
Also any advice about switching? We have never done so before..! Thank you.

I hope you have a happy day full of kindness :A

Switch. It is really easy. I prefer a fixed tariff with no early exit penalty. The energy club website allows you to specify preferences (such as these) with tick boxes on the left side of the page.
I also look for positive feedback by existing customers, but have just switched to Yorkshire Energy which is too new to have feedback. I read around the company website and decided to try them.
I switch every year for both my home, and for my parent's.
PS sometimes the switch is to the latest fixed tariff offered by my current supplier0 -
Are you on their standard rate? If so, they may well have a cheaper tarrif. Check the charges - unit cost and standing charge and compare to the ones suggested by the switching site and do the sums. Don't rely on them to offer, do the homework yourselves.
If you want to you can check your current provider website to see if there is anything comparable. Otherwise, switching is generally incredibly easy.
But check you've worked out the costs on your annual usage not on the amount you pay as you will get a more accurate reflection that way.
Don't forget the cashback sites if you do decide to switch, bearing in mind that cashback is not guaranteed.
How important is customer service to you?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
They can't offer a custom deal just for you, but if any of the tariffs they have available are competitive, they'll appear near the top on the comparison sites. Some sites such as the Cheap Energy Club let you filter by big name suppliers, or even limit results to your current supplier so you can see where they place if you feel there are to many small suppliers you've never heard of ahead of them.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day).
