Morning everyone,
Sorry to hear that Mr TAwas poorly over the weekend but good to know that help is there without the need to go into hospital, take care all x
Also sorry to hear about your friend Nelski guess it goes to show we never know what goes on behind closed doors, hope today’s shopping isn’t too challenging.
We’ve obviously had rain overnight, dry now but definitely cooler. I need to get out this morning to find a 21st birthday card for youngest DSS’s girlfriend and Lu is also needs a net of carrots, pretty bizarre combination
I have a haircut this afternoon, bit sooner than normal but my hairdresser goes on his hols next week and I’d look like a member of the hair bear bunch by the time he got back.
That’s about it for today, get well wishes to Poppy and RR, hope everyone has a good day x0 -
TA, I hope Mr is continuing to improve.
Poppy, I hope you are also feeling a bit better with your chemo gap.
Redruby, ouch, I sympathise.
Olliebeak, good luck with the Nathan sitting.
Yesterday was a day of two halves. It started well, Steve googled and found his queasiness is a common symptom of lymphoma but apparently moderate exercise helps and so does not giving in to the tiredness if you can help it. He was a lot happier and we had a heart to heart on our walk so hopefully he will calm down a bit. I think he had forgotten that I had been through the same sort of emotions but in my 30's so I do understand a lot of how he feels.
Anyway, it was a beautiful day, the walk from Muker was spectacular and we got two thirds of the way round when we discovered I had lost Steve's keys. We retraced our steps (up a ginormous hill) but didn't find them. So I ended up walking over 8 miles, wrecking my knee and costing us megabucks to replace the car and camper van keys, not happy.
On lighter note Laura was telling me that the night before Ziggy had kept them awake crying in the kitchen. They couldn't work out what she wanted, tried food and a visit outside with no success. They went back to bed only to hear loud clattering downstairs and when Laura went down Ziggy was tossing her water bowl around the room as if to "This is what I want you stupid human". Laura felt very guilty because apparently she gulped loads of water down.0 -
Morning all,
Grim day up North, luckily I took Ly1a out early so we could get to the park without meeting any big scary roadmending machines, just got in and it started raining.Because of the road closure I had to walk right round to another bus stop yesterday but talked to a lovely lady whilst waiting. When we got to the next stop, there were loads of people waiting, they said the earlier bus hadnt turned up due to a serious accident as it couldnt get through. Its only a small single decker and it was full after that.
I didnt get much, just some sausages for tea and some wool from Wilk0.Its some of that stuff that is self striping and I wanted to experiment with some crochet so at £1 it didnt break the bank.
DGC here tonight, so I need to hoover round- if I don't they both get a bit itchy if there is any dog hair on the carpet. The bathroom needs more than a swish and swipe too.
Ruby-glad your back is slightly improved x
TA- glad to 'see' you,and pleased Mr TA feels a bit better this morning, hugs to you both xx
Gers- glad your drive was ok and useful. We spent several holidays near Campbeltown when the boys were young,we used to go in a group when DH was a member of a diving club, that peninsula is beautiful
Take care all xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Good morning everyone,
A relatively nice morning, although wet underfoot as usual.
Yesterday TGFW came over after work. I made chicken and chorizo fajitas which I think are now my speciality. Spent the rest of the night just chilling on the couch and had a relatively early night.
Because she stayed, I didn't go to the gym this morning but I'm playing football tonight. Some basic chicken dish for dinner I recon. I'll also need to start packing for my trip to south Spain on Saturday!
HH - That is a very efficient delivery service! Never had something so quick and accurate. Good luck for tomorrow morning.
TA - If it's not one thing, it's another. Glad you're feeling the benefit of the support on offer though.0 -
Thank you for all the kind messages. Definitely feeling a bit brighter today and looking forward to my chemo break. Went to see The Children Act yesterday with a couple of friends, superb performances and very thought provoking. My other sister in law is visiting next week and will take me to the hospital to collect the next batch of pills. It will be lovely to have some company for a few days.
TA thinking of you both I am sure it is better for both of you to be at home rather than hospital.
Going for coffee and a gossip at the Village Hall soon.
Hope everyone has a good a day as possible0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Sorry to hear Mr TA has another infection, but at least they are treating him at home where he wants to be. I hope he is feeling better soon. extra (((((((hugs)))))).
Terrible night last night did not drop off until after 5am and was up at 7.30 to get OH's breakfast.
I heard from the SS lady yesterday, she is chasing up the package, she said they were going to go out to other providers as the one Agency only had a slot at 10.30 am. which is much too late for us. Half the morning would be gone before he got out of bed.
Towels in the washer OH tells me they will dry ok. Its cold again this morning. I lit the fire yesterday and have laid it again this morning, will possibly light it after OH has had his siesta.
Baked cod for supper tonight with new potato's and green beans. Apple and blackberry crumble for dessert.0 -
Morning all,
Hope you don't mind me dropping in. I usually post on the de-cluttering thread but have 2 very quiet days at work so am at a bit of a loose end as i'm not at home decluttering and the nature of my work (at least for these 2 days) is very quiet. I try to get as much done as i can using my phone.
I'm not much of a spender but i do try to be eco friendly so i've just purchased online a bamboo reusable cup for my tea. Especially at work i tend to be a big tea drinker and we just have those paper cups (presumably with a film on plastic inside) so that's just a little thing to help the planet.
I need to get someone to paint my windows (i'm ok with diy but you won't catch me going up ladders) so i will have a look on trustatrader. Also we had our new washing machine delivered at the weekend, unfortunately the door is quite chunky so i can't get the dishwasher open. Not too big a problem as we have space to move everything along it just involves taking some units out.0 -
Welcome Rose Crow!
Well, today's teaching was good. Another new class and (luckily) all seem much better than the group last year. After it was finished I was 'strong-armed' into teaching the teenagers group for an extra session this afternoon. It's not that I wanted to agree, I just felt I had to! It's both a Grrrr and a :j as I get paid for it.
When I arrived home I hung out the washing - it got a rain rinse a couple of times though the wind was strong enough to get it all dry now. Sudden driving heavy drizzle just appears in a misty cloud, passes over and is gone.
I've cleared out stuff from my car as it's going in for repair tomorrow morning and I'll pick up the courtesy car. There's bound to be something left behind so I'll double check later.
Lunch was really juicy chicken breasts in garlic and lime sauce, it's the first time I've had meat so juicy. I also had piles of steamed leeks, sprouts and broccoli.
Best get ready for my challenge later. Perhaps my very clear and unambiguous email from Monday will have sunk in.:rotfl:0
