Post Office - Line Rental Only.

Good morning everyone!

I've just found out about Ofcom's new ruling that people who do not have Broadband at their homes should be offered a lower tarrif from May 2018 for their phone line rental.

As far as I am aware, my parents didn't receive a letter from the Post Office about this and are currently still paying £16.99 per month for their line rental.

Have any of you been in a similar situation and did you manage to get any refunds/credit backdated?

Thanks.

Post Office, which serves the second largest share of the landline-only market after BT, recently confirmed to Ofcom that it will be offering a new price of £11.50 from May

Says nothing about sending letters out to existing customers.

Only BT were told to by Ofcom to do this ( provide cheaper line rental for phone only customers ) the PO decision to offer a similar deal is voluntary , and may rely on PO customers asking to switch (BT had to identify and move qualifying customers without them contacting BT), so you may find that the PO don't need to offer to back date or refund or credit the account, just move the customer when they call and request to be moved to the lower tarrif

"Post Office, which is the second largest landline-only provider after BT, is in the process of writing to eligible customers to ask if they want to switch to the new tariff, so if you think you could be affected check your post".
