I was put in the support group for ESA migrating from Incapacity Benefit in 2013. I didn't have a medical they just used my hospital records to make a decision.
Five years on I've never been reassessed or had any contact with ESA for a review of anything. I feel as though they have forgotten about me!
Mentally I'm struggling at the moment but I really feel like I could tackle some part time paid work, maybe try a temporary Christmas job see how it goes. I think part of my mental health issues right now is being so isolated and lonely and feeling like I do nothing for me.
I've done voluntary work in the past and some part time studying over the last few years. I've not been in paid work for 11 years.
Is five years a long time without an assessment?

Permitted work is definitely the first route to look at. As long as you work less than 16 hours per week on minimum wage it won't affect ESA. You do need to get the work OK'd by ESA first.0
