Good evening,
I've a problem, and wondering if any of you can assist me.
In June this year, I had an alert via CallCredit (Now TransUnion) which I checked.
To my horror, an account which was defaulted, appeared on my report, in my name and date of birth.
However, most definitely, was not mine.
I contacted CallCredit, disputing this, as such they contacted me back advising the creditor refused its removal.
It was a debt collection agency; so I called them, explained it must be a mistrace.
No response for weeks; so I obtained the CEO E-mail address; E-mail a strong but polite E-mail.
I was contacted back, and it was fully investigated.
To be fair, they did resolve the matter; although after it was removed on all CRAs, the next update, they all reappeared. I have been financially redressed for this.
Problem is, they've linked this person on over 20 addresses, to my credit report.
The account has gone, but the address links remain.
They've contacted all CRAs to have it removed the link, I wanted to check though, will this also remove all the other links to and from the address on the account that was on my report?
I hope so, Equifax tell me they agree with my logic, and they should all disappear but I'm worried I'm going to have to contact all these creditors with links to my report now, which could take months!
I will confirm I've never lived at any of the addresses, and no link on to or from on the accounts which aren't mine, have never been linked to any of my previous or current addresses.
Please advise, thank you
