I hope this is not inappropriate for this section.
When one makes a purchase on line, and input the card details and security number, what does the retailer see on its screen. I assume it is something to let it accept the order but the number and security code.

I have always assumed that they only see the authorisation code for amount £xxxx.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

Not sure about online but when I took cards in a retail shop I saw everything. The customer copy is mostly xxxx out.
If there was a charge back then I needed all the information so I could find the correct copy to challenge it.
I would assume online would work the same way to trace the receipt details.0
