Final questions to ask before completion?

Hello - what questions has everyone asked or wished they'd asked before they completed? We've exchanged and are due to complete a week on Friday.

My starter list below:
1. Who are the current gas/water/electricity suppliers?
2. Where are the meters for these?
3. Where can you turn the water off?
4. Is there a knack to anything in the house?

Anything else to add? I don't want to send multiple emails where I can avoid it. Thanks!

  • 2,3 were not on our property form, so not true

4 depends on how nice your sellers are, we've made a list of bits and pieces they'll need/info we know that may be handy

TA6 question 13 - providers name and location of meter
    And stopcock

  • Somebody has asked this before and got such a good reply that I copied it into my phone. These are obviously as well as the big stuff, just little extra questions :)

10 questions to ask the seller.

    1 - Where's the main stopcock?
2 - Where are the gas and electricity meters?
    3 - Who supplies the gas/electric/home phone/broadband?
4 - Do any surfaces need specialist cleaning products? E.g. wooden floors, granite worktops.
5 - What day do the binmen come? Where do you put the bins out?
6 - Do you have any old tins of paint the same colour as the walls?
7 - Do you have any instruction manuals or warranties for electrical items?
8 - Where did the kitchen and bathroom tiles come from?
9 - Where did any fixed furniture eg kitchen cabinets come from?
    10- Where is the thermostat?

Surely the location of the meters is one of the first things you look at, at least the leccy, to determine the state of the wiring, at least in older properties, no?

How do you work the alarm (if there is one)?

Is there a booster/attenuator on the TV aerial and if so, are you leaving it? Got caught out with that one; talk about mean.
