Even though I have only had my Sky+ box installed for a few months, it's not one of their newest models and I can't get Sky anytime on it! I'm just wondering if anyone has had any luck trying to get a free upgrade to one of the newest boxes in order to get anytime?

On the old boxes the hardrives are not big enough so anytime i not available.
I have heard of people calling Sky and complaining and getting an upgraded box for £49 (sometimes an A graded "not new").
IMHO: Anytime is rubbish anyway and I have turned mine off as most of the time it records 40 hours of progs that i'm never going to watch.
They should make the box learn what sort a programmes types you watch and only record things in the area that you are interested in, I'm sure this will be done soon.
You can upgrade the HD yourself its easy and their are tutorials online but i'm not sure if this will work.0 -
Upgrading the hard drive wont work (and who would want to so sky can take 40GB and put anything they want on it.) Its all down to the version of your box.
You can get anytime on your old box... Its called "Looking through the sky magazine and recording shows you quite fancy". at least that way you maybe have a chance of liking something.
Also remember sky anytime can record things that you might not have access to like movies and you would have to upgrade to the movies package to watch it. A bit of a con making people think it is something for nothing when its just a clever marketing technique0
