Thanks all certainly good for thought. Don’t get me wrong I’m no hard line audiophile and 99% of the time the system is great but on specific tones (rather than tracks) one specific speaker on the left hand side crackles like it’s not working - not ‘doesn’t sound great’ - my hearing isn’t that good! When you use the fader to localise the left and right side, the driver side sounds fine but the passenger side isn’t.
Listening to it you don’t have to listen hard at all or have the volume or or have the audio settings up it’s clear as day.
For me there’s a difference between high-fidelity sound waves and a big mother of a crackle...but I’m no expert! Sounds like a screwdriver has been put through the speaker and made a hole.
The dealer didn’t feel it was right and swapped the speaker out (granted they are likely less experts than I).
Just feels like you spend some money on a system, £1000 for me is a lot regardless of the true value, and if you were told it’s fine apart from some tracks where specific speakers just won’t play right seems a little odd to me...
+1 for the point about referring me to the manufacturer- I made the same point about the wheels myself

Great shout on audio source too - used a range of sources from wireless streaming, Bluetooth and then uploaded directly to the local HDD and used a USB stick. The latter two used a 24-bit FLAC file I was able to get from the internet as a high quality version of a specific ‘tune’
Was worth a try though. Was exactly the same - again left rear speaker crackles like hell, right side speaker lovely.0 -

If you're going to pursue it - and other those circumstances i can see why you would consider it - then you might want to get a report from an expert - for example, there are a lot of very good car audio specialists who could maybe do a report documenting the issue? It would add evidence / gravitas / commitment to your claim?
Cant see it costing much to get done but might make the dealer / Audi see you're serious and have a real, documented issue?0 -
Thanks for that yes was thinking I may need more than my own view if this is indeed an actual problem (which I’m positive it is) versus a perception issue. I’ve heard nothing back so will be calling them at the first opportunity.0

Does this describe your issue ?

In the subsequent description you gave, i'm inclined to agree.
I'd get an expert report confirming it and take it from there.0
