ALDI ParkingEye PCN

So I just received a parking charge notice in the post from ParkingEye for staying 48 minutes in an ALDI car park.
The charge has actually been issued to my girlfriend who is the driver and registered keeper of the car but I was a passenger on the day in question and I am the one with a bank statement proving I was a customer at ALDI on that day.
The problem is when I seen the letter, I panicked and went immediately to the ParkingEye website to appeal. I explained I was accompanying the person named on the charge on the day in question and that I have proof that I was a customer at ALDI, I attached a bank statement that had no names but showed the charge to a debit card at aldi on the date in question. I'm not sure if I named my girlfriend as the driver on the day but I appealed under the option 'None of the above' where it asked if I was driver, keeper etc.
I also wrote an email to customer services of aldi explaning the situation with the attached bank statement and asked if they could cancel the charge where I did name my girlfiend as the driver, I haven't got a reply from either yet.
After reading the forums I feel like I might have shot myself in the foot by naming the driver to aldi (and possibly to ParkingEye) and I'm not entirely sure if a bank statement from the passenger is even worth anything as it doesn't really prove what the driver was doing.
I will update again when I get a reply from either ParkingEye or ALDI, is there anything else I should be doing in the meantime?

I think you have done enough damage without doing anything more
ideally, you get ALDI to cancel the pcn asap, if necessary by complaining to their CEO0 -
Red the Newbies Sticky very carefully - it will outline what you need to do now.
And you should be emailing Aldi at CEO-level, the name and address is all over this forum. That can still be done.0 -
I think you should re think this a bit.
I cannot see a problem with you paying for the shopping,
even if not the keeper.
Many times I meet a mum in a car park and I pay the bill
and if she got a parking ticket, the supermarket would
have to talk to me as a paying customer
The key is to complain directly to the CEO as a customer
regardless how you arrived at the store.
As a customer you want this cancelled
Mr Giles Hurley Chief Executive Officer
Email gmd.cs@aldi.co.uk
You may also ask Mr Hurley if he allows his customers
to be harassed and maybe taken to court by PE
It has been said on here that Aldi actually don't allow
court action so a direct question will not go amiss0 -
Was the value of the shopping £30 or more? That seems to be the tipping point where PE will normally cancel. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Update: I've just received an email from Suzi at Aldis parking management team saying on the basis of the evidence provided she is happy to contact ParkingEye and get the charge cancelled.
I'm assuming it's not officially cancelled yet? Is there anything I should reply back?0 -
Well done. :T
No need to write back. Expect a written confirmation letter from PE. They're pretty efficient at sending these out, normally takes 7-10 days.
Have you read the thread by EagerLearner (here on the first page of the forum thread index) who too has achieved the same result via a complaint to the contract principal.

That's prefect, I'll eagerly await the confirmation letter from PE.
Thanks for all your help everyone, I'm £70 better off because of these forums! :j0 -
so .... while we have your attention ......
please read / watch the below and kindly consider a letter to your MP....
https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2018-02-02/debates/CC84AF5E-AC6E-4E14-81B1-066E6A892807/Parking(CodeOfPractice)Bill
and slightly longer, the committee stage
https://www.parliamentlive.tv/Event/Index/d5550515-cce9-4185-83ec-754dadb7524a
''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.
These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam.
and some quotes from the committe stage
"The other area is hospital parking, and I want to single out one company for some pretty shady practices. That is ParkingEye"
" is very clear to me that there is collusion between parking companies and solicitors’ firms—so-called roboclaims companies. "
"They are often set up adjacently and involve the same directors and personnel. Incidentally, the same personnel get involved in the so-called appeals bodies."
"Essentially, it is a money-making enterprise that takes advantage of motorists up and down the country. They operate in a very business-like fashion, which is why I call them roboclaims companies."
"The companies are jamming up parts of our legal system."
“I now pretty much know exactly how the parking companies and in particular the IPC have been running this scam for the past 5 years. Basically both of the appeals processes are a complete and utter sham, (and part of that sham is Gladstones Solicitors itself)”
"The appeals process at Excel/VCS is run by a team of minimum wage office workers with no legal knowledge or experience whatsoever,"
" It is claimed by the head of the appeals service (retired Judge Bryn Holloway) that this is a completely independent fair process, it is not”
"The letter mentions two individuals—Will Hurley and Bryn Holloway—and concludes this is a typical example of the clear collusion between the IPC, their members and the IAS"
"what we can do about roboclaims companies and solicitors firms that profit, often in shady ways"
" the very large amounts of money that can be involved in such scams—a company called Smart Parking was involved in one such scam on my patch"
"tightening up the rules regarding the unfair use of automatic number plate recognition" "BW Legal, regularly issues 10,000 county court judgments a month, and is known to have issued 28,000 in one month"
"They are jamming up our court system, and are often totally unjustified."
" because the lifeblood of trying to extort money from people is having access to their details."
