Can a 12 Year Old Credit Card Debt (sold on) Be Put On My Credit File???

    Yes the original account with the bank was defaulted on (12 years ago)

    In that case, I don't think the account should be on your credit report as it would have been removed six years ago. If it were me, I would raise a written complaint with the creditor (whoever owns or manages the debt currently)

    You have two avenues of thought here.

    (1) if the debt defaulted 12 years ago, them as said, it should not be on your credit file.

    Written complaint to whoever now owns the debt, and report to the ICO if they refuse.

    (2) CCA request to the same, should also be sent, see what comes back, from what you have said you appear to of been messed around enough by these people.
