Rotting (3 year old) fence posts

We had some lengths of feather board fencing put up by a local company, 3 years ago - yesterday, I noticed that some of the wooden posts are rotting at ground level - one in particular is really crumbling !
Plus another post has split and is bending at an alarming angle - dragging the feather boards away from the horizontal rails !

The posts were set in concrete so are going to be difficult to replace
How long should I have expected the posts to last ?
They were (supposedly) treated - plus we had also painted them with green cuprinol !

The posts on youtube are easy to remove, just pull them up using jack. Had mine done 3 years ago too but went or concrete post for the same reason you are having. Also my panels should have been pressure treated, think I was conned
  • Have you looked at the paperwork the company who did the work left for your records?
It might mention any guarantee etc for the work they carried out.
  • I had a section of fencing put in almost exactly 3 years ago, also feather boarding.

The area is in the shade so the ground can stay wet for longer and they are really solid and look like they have just been put in. Mine certainly don't show any signs of rotting, so doesn't sound right to me,

The last fence I had built was 15 years ago.

The pressure treated timber is as good as new and it has never had any form of extra protection applied.

If timber is rotting after 3 years its bad timber or bad installation.
