Poppy, I just wanted to say that I hope you're feeling ok. It must be so difficult going through chemo alone. Have you got any support from any of the cancer charities. If it's any small help know that I've been thinking about you.
AOD, grr on your behalf but I know how difficult itcan be.
I hope the TA's are getting on a well as possible.
RR, ouch, hope it feels better soon.
Speky, did you enjoy your weekend?
We're up in Yorkshire now, I didn't post yesterday because I was having such a down day. I'm finding it hard to cope with Steve imagining that every small ache or pain is the symptom of something drastic. I know he has to get his head round his new normal and I can remember going through something similar when I became ill in my thirties but nowhere near to the same degree. I'm trying to be as supportive as possible but I had a few stern words yesterday when he decided he'd developed diabetes because he was feeling spacey and hungry! I pointed out he'd had a normal blood test last week and that it was probably tiredness and that he ought to look for the most likely explanation rather than the most esoteric. Was that harsh?
Sorry for the rant, hopefully we'll be able to have a walk today, maye up in Swaledale.0 -
Morning everyone,
Yesterday I played back to back games of football, which served as a test for how my back felt, which was surprisingly fine. I was kept so busy that I didn't even have time for dinner!
Tonight, I've got TGFW coming over so I'm making fajitas which are slowly becoming my speciality.
Been up and at the gym this morning, then swung by Asda before work, so I'm all sorted. Sat down and went through my bank statement from the weekend and got it all accounted for.
My 2nd phone interview is this afternoon, this time with the owner of the company. I'm told it wont last longer than half an hour and will just discuss my career so far, so should be easy enough.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday.
HH - I'm with you but I'm holding off putting the heating on as long as possible.
Camelot - Hope you're feeling a bit better today,
Gers - Venison casserole sounds right up my street, never tried it. Safe travels today, but as you say, I don't think the views will be quite as beautiful as they can be.
RR - Arggh!! I hope it's nothing too serious. The usual stuff for me helped; muscle relxants, rest, hot water bottle, hot baths and if you can afford it, I'd suggest a physio session with deep tissue massage. Mine was £42 per hour.
EDIT
Posted as the same as some of you.
Gers - Lovely picture. You'll have amazing views when it's clear! Might be worth walking out over there to see if there's a pot of gold too.
Snoozer - It was lovely thank you. Expensive, but nice nonetheless. Also I wouldn't say what you said was harsh at all. Fair and honest.0 -

Good news rr ...we have to take care of our backs take it really easy0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Thoughts with the TA's.
Snoozer....join the club. I often have to have stern words with OH.....He really winds me up sometimes...ggrrrrr..... and he wonders why he does not get any sympathy.
Redruby.. join the back club...... mine is ok if I sit but move and stand and its 'hello, I am still here'.
OH went to the evergreen, he was not impressed, all they did was all the chaps sit together, a bit of chat, bingo, which he hates, cup of tea and a raffle for which they donate prizes. We were home by 3.45pm. He will go again a couple of times and see if it improves, personally I doubt it. We were going to go in for the coffee morning, but I felt decidedly ropey when I got up, so lit the fire, staying in, its raining. The fire is taking its time.
I was given a bag of apples yesterday going to peel some and make an apple and blackberry crumble. I would make a pie, but I no longer have a pie plate.
Mince for supper might do spag bol for a change.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
It's a grey and overcast day here today but I am feeling quite cheerful despite the weather. Lilly has left for college and Phoebe is supposed to be doing her CV online. Lee is cracking on with some school work and I have sneaked on here for a quick browse around whilst waiting for some shopping to be delivered.
Lee loaded up the slow cooker with a pork casserole this morning and it already smells wonderful. I will cook some mashed potatoes, carrots and cabbage this evening to go with it.
My poor friend came to see me yesterday, she is in a very bad way so all I could do was give her loads of hugs and reassurance. It is so sad to see her in such a state, I hope this episode will finish soon and she recovers. Her poor husband and son looked very frazzled when they dropped her off to me.
Redruby, sorry to hear that you have hurt your back, hope it heals up quickly x
poppy, you have been in my thoughts a lot. I hope your chemo does the job it is supposed to and the effects are not too bad, sending you a big hug x
Good luck Speky with your second interview, I have everything crossed for you x
Snoozer, I am guessing that Steve is panicking because he feels very vulnerable at the moment. For what it's worth, I don't think you are being harsh at all. I know when my health anxiety gets out of hand, my Steve's gentle reassurance and reality check helps me enormously. I hope things settle down for the both of you, also sending you a big hug x
Gers, what a beautiful picture, it made my heart happy x
Thinking of the TA's as well at this difficult time x
Well the shopping has arrived and is being put away as I type so I will go and make a cup of tea before I get stuck into Maths and English.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Oh dear about the back, redruby!
Backs can be very delicate and temperamental! It's my lower back that causes me problems sometimes, and can get quite bad. Mostly I think, because I have terrible posture!
Not the best looking weather out there today! The sun did make an attempt to come out, but clouds have chased it off again!!
I've spent the first bit of my morning working through my to-do list, which is about done for now. So now it's coffee time!!Because it's fun to have money!

 Hello everybody - Prayers and ((((Healing Hugs)))) for all who need them
.
The day started off with rain here, but it's cleared up now. Still rather cool, but bright/sunny and very breezy. Taken advantage and washed bedding, so there's a SuperKing Duvet Cover on the line blowing away right now. Pillow cases and King Size Fitted Sheet will be joining them shortly :j .
The pumps/trainers that I spotted for DGD2 (age10) in the charity shop on Saturday, are still there today - so they've now been placed into a bag with my name on to collect later :T. She's just gone into Yr6 at school, but takes a size 7 in shoes .................. so it's always a blessing to find a pair of shoes that are NEW and HER SIZE :T.
While I'm at the charity shop, I need to attend a 'committee meeting' late afternoon, but evening meal is prepped and will be easy to do when I get back home afterwards :j. Sweet Chilli Turkey Steaks with Spicy Potato Wedges (Actifry) with Salad .
Slowly using up all the portions of meat that are in the freezer at the moment - then I'll defrost the freezer (badly frost-bound) and start to stock up again on special offer meats (3 for £10 from ASDA) and get some casserole/stew/curry/chilli type meals made to freeze for the coming months :j .
Have a fabulous money-saving-day, everybody and God Bless - Ollie xx0 -
Redruby I hope your back starts to feel better soon. It can be really painful, can't it.
I have been back to bed for a decent sleep and got up to the smell of cooking. OH has made a cassoulet.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0
