Im in a position where I’ve seen a corner sofa which we want, but have yet to move into our new home.
the sofa we currently have just won’t fit or work in the new living room so we intend to sell our current one.
now I have two issues:- if the house falls
through and I’ve paid the full amount where do I stand? Can I get a refund?
It takes upto 10 weeks to make these sofas due to demand, I don’t want to wait weeks and weeks for a sofa!0 -
In your situation I'd wait until you have moved in or at least exchanged. I'm sure you could survive on the current sofa. When you say it won't fit, do you mean it literally won't fit or that it just can't go exactly where you'd like it to go? If the former, then borrow or get a temporary sofa off freecycle or similar to tide you over. Or even garden chairs for a few weeks if needs be. There's simply no point committing to an expensive item that you can't be sure you'll need when a house move, like everything else at the moment, might be delayed and you might be stuck in a contract you can't get out of.Andyjp1 said:Im in a position where I’ve seen a corner sofa which we want, but have yet to move into our new home.

Act on what you know. At the moment, you don't know you're moving.1 -
Wise words. Thank you, it will fit to an extent, but not what we want, won’t look right, but I guess we can have it until we need to order.Aylesbury_Duck said:
