Energy Switch - when do I provide final readings
Hi all
I have started the process of switching energy provider via USwitch. I have received an email from First Utility (who I am leaving) acknowledging that I have started the process. It states that my new supplier (NPower) will manage the switch and let me know when it's complete. It also says to provide us (First Utility) with an up to date meter readings as it will improve the accuracy of my final bill. It then goes on to say to give my new provider my opening readings.
I am confused.
When do I provide First Utility with my meter readings?
Please note, I have just moved into the property they supply on 31/08.
Thanks

You don't tell the losing supplier anything. The gaining supplier manages everything. You give them the opening reading and they pass that on to the losing supplier via a third party verifier to use as the closing read.0

If you've just moved into the property where First Utility are the supplier, you must have given them an opening reading when you moved in?
If not, I'd read the meter straight away and give FU that reading, then just wait for NPower to request a meter reading from you.0
