Sorry not very tech savvy.....I need to email someone and copy in a further half dozen, but I don't want to BCC as the email needs to be seen by all that it's been sent to all (if you see what I mean). However, I don't want to disclose anyones email address - is there a way I can send the email that way?
I'm hoping I can do an email to Mr X. With Mrs Y, Miss Z etc copied in with it showing names and not emails. It's probably really simple but if anyone has a moment to explain how that would be great.
TIA.

If you CC rather than BCC then everyone will see all the email addresses.
You can write a list of CC names without email addresses in the email text, but just like if you posted a letter with a list of CCs, no-one would have any guarantee that the other recipients had actually received a copy.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -

Thanks, so do you mean I can BCC the actual emails but write their names in the CC part? Would that work or have I misunderstood?0 -
No, you have to put the CC part in the actual message:
TO: Alice@example
BCC: Bob@example, Charles@example, Dave@example
Dear Alice, CC Bob, Charles, Dave
This is the third time this week you have brought cupcakes for everyone else in the office, and not brought me one. I'm very unhappy.

No, there is no way of doing this.
If you BCC, nobody will know who else the email was sent to.
If you CC, you can't hide the email addresses.0 -

CC means carbon copy. Putting CC means that the person mentioned in the letter or memo would be sent a copy created by inseerting a sheet of carbon paper between the original and the paper to be copied onto.
BCC means Blind Carbon Copy. They get a carbon copy but it isn't mentioned in the original.
e.g.
TO: Alice
CC: Fred
means that the original paper was sent to Alice, but she knows Fred gets a copy.
The writer would annotate their own copy of the memo or letter with e.g. BCC: Steve, to show that they had also given Steve a copy without telling Alice or Fred.
It has just been updated for the internet age.
For the file, our copy was always on green flimsy paper; if we wanted a diary note it was on blue flimsy paper and put into a set of date ordered folders in the diary filing cabinet.
Ah the good old days...0
