Suspension arm brands

Hi all,

I've been looking out for new lower suspension arms for my car (Clio) and can't decide what would be the best option. I have seen cheap ones by Comline which is a big company in the UK with a 3 year warranty but then I hear lots of praise for Lemforder which only has a 2 year warranty and cosy twice as much. I know there are loads of brands out there like Moog or QH to choose from and people are no doubt loyal to certain brands etc. I have also heard stories of cheap Chinese ones etc.
I'm unsure whether Comline are a safe option based on the low price and if anyone had had any experiences with them at all?

As a ex motor Factor parts person and self taught mechanic, the lines of suspension parts that I trust for suspension arms are:
    IFA (IMTFA).
    First Line Automotive.
    Lemforder
    And ofcourse the manufacturer.
  • Comline should be OK but Lemforder is better though as you say, more expensive. Whatever you do avoid Conti-Direct, their ball joints are rubbish; mine wore out in a few months so not worth fitting.
  • Lemforder make a lot of OEM parts, and are generally good quality. I wouldnt use anything else since pattern parts from motor factors never seem to last me long.
  • Febi-Bilstein (usually just Febi) are also a reasonable make for ball joints and cheaper than Lemforder.

Thanks all, any views on Moog at all? They seem to also be in a similar price range and a little cheaper than Lemforder? I did think about the Febi-Bilstein brand as aren't they good for shocks?
I did wonder what the OEM was for Renault, tried asking the local dealer and they wouldn't say.
  • I think this sums up Moog:

"Moog is a mixed bag of globally sourced parts. especially for imports, some of its good, decent, or junk. Whatever they make for themselves is either made in usa or mexico."
