Selling Foreign Shares In UK

Hello
I worked in the UK for a Canadian company about 20 years ago, and as part of the remuneration, were given shares in the company.
Having just found the paper certificate again, went to my bank, the NatWest, and was at first told they would sell them on my behalf. But when they checked, they couldn’t as the company is listed in Canada.
Any advice what to do next? Value would be about £1000 and would be be a one off transaction.
Thanks Mike

Try a broker who does overseas dealing.........if you have a SIPP or S&S ISA then your current platform's broker service might be able to help.
If not, try Hargreaves Lansdown.......they do overseas share dealing.....and they answer the phone fairly quickly too.....0 -

Just had this back from the Canadian company who were listed as managing the account "We regret to inform your that your ac# 16375684 Air Canada is no longer active and closed.
Air Canada became Ace Aviation. The company went through bankruptcy, through the bankruptcy the shares were delisted and the shares became worthless "
That's a kick in the teeth0
